NYC

we're hoping our guests will use this weekend as a way to see and experience some of this city we call home.  this page will give you some ideas and some of our favorite spots in and around Brooklyn and Manhattan. this city has been so important to us, not only as our home, but it's the place that introduced us to one another, and we hope you love it too.

Brooklyn

walk the BK Bridge.  yes, it might be cold, but the views are unbeatable.  it's one of our absolute favorite things to do.  a good idea is to take the subway into Manhattan (for those staying in BK) and walk back into BK.  once over the bridge, grab some pizza at the famous Grimaldi's (there is always a line, so be patient) and walk around BK Bridge Park.  this park has been completely renovated (they are still working hard on expanding), but it's a favorite spot of ours to sit and stare at the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan skyline.

Cobble Hill is our neighborhood and we could not be more in love,  the places to eat and drink are limitless.  Frankie's for great Italian at an unbeatable cost (try the cavatelli and their house red wine), BGH for a beer or bloody mary in the afternoon, Lucali for some brick oven pizza (this is BYOB which is fantastic, but allow for some time to wait in line), Henry Public has a turkey leg sandwich that might change your life, Clover Club is a throwback with some fantastic (and slightly more expensive) cocktails.  no matter what you choose, you will not be let down.  we suggest looking these places up before you decide.  most restaurants do not take reservations and a lot of places are cash only.

Manhattan

see a play!  this is, by far, our favorite thing to do in the city.  obviously!  go by TKTS in Times Square or in BK.  you can normally find some cheap(er) tickets for some Broadway shows.  or, you can always see a wonderful show off-Broadway or off-off. the talent in this city is endless and is definitely not limited to the Great White Way.
